Procedure To Register Trademark In Singapore:
Stage 1 - Trademark Registration Application
- A trademark registration application must include the following information:
a) Name and address of the applicant
b) Clear mention of the list of products and/or services to which you wish the trademark to be registered
c) A clear representation of the trademark
d) A proper declaration of the reason to use the mark
e) Prescribed application
- If all the mentioned requirements are properly complied with, your application will proceed to the examination stage
- If the requirements are not complied with, you will be notified by the Registrar to amend the application within the specified deadline.
Stage 2 - Trademark Examination
- The trademark will be thoroughly examined and should there be any amendments, you will need to submit the following:
a) Amendment Form
b) Prescribed amendment fee
- If your application for trademark registration in Singapore is acceptable, it will further be published in the Trademarks Journal.
- If the application is objectionable, you will be given an examination report with reasons for the refusal which you need to amend and re-submit within 4 months. Failing to re-submit within the deadline would result in withdrawal for the application.
Stage 3 - Trademark Publication
- Once the application is considered acceptable, it will be published in the Trademark Journal for a period of 2 months for the public to inspect and raise opposition if any.

- If the application is opposed by another party, an opposition notice will be issued and will be further followed by opposition proceedings.
Stage 4 – Issuance Of Trademark Registration Certificate
